About Me

With 45 years of experience in the petroleum industry, I, Mr. Ronald L. Gemeinhardt, MSES (Masters of Science in Environmental Studies), began my career as a USAF POL Specialist for four years. My expertise extends to environmental health and safety (EH&S) compliance support, with a background in refining, distribution, pipeline operations, and retail and a strong focus on waste management encompassing recycling and used oil management.

My environmental support areas include the Incident Command System (ICS) application within the Shell Oil Company Response Group, notably working for three years during the Deepwater Horizon Incident. Serving as a Shell Oil Team Leader, I offered support in the distribution, pipeline, and retail residual management, prioritizing Resource Conservation Recovery Act (RCRA) compliance. My primary responsibilities included staff management, waste management, incident management and investigation support, remediation, litigation support, plan writing and review, training development and implementation, and on-site training initiatives.

Throughout my career, I have provided operational support and overseen on-site management related to safety, health, and environmental compliance, covering areas such as air, water, and waste; the Comprehensive Environmental Response, Compensation, and Liability Act (CERCLA); the Toxic Substances Control Act (TSCA), site remediation; Department of Transportation (DOT) regulations; fuels; used oil collection and processing; and finished lubricants production compliance management. I also oversaw the refining and lubricant compounding QA/QC laboratory operations. My career’s noteworthy highlights also include my expertise in delivering specialized training programs focused on terminal, pipeline, and retail environmental compliance.
